2024 3MT Registration Form

 

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) celebrates the exciting research conducted by PhD students around the world. Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), the competition cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. This competition increases their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Competitors are allowed one PowerPoint slide, but no other resources or props.
 

Flinders University PhD students who will have passed their confirmation of candidature (by the University Final on the 26 August 2024) are invited to register to compete in the 2024 3MT competition. Details about the Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition will be released when known - its usually held early in September. 

The competition runs as follows:

  •  Registration: All competitors must register below for the competition by Register by 30 June 2024.
  •  Practice Sessions: Competitors are encouraged to attend Practice Sessions and view online training options on the REST FLO site.
  •  Heats: Competitors will compete in the heat for their college.
  •  Semi-Final: Top two from each college heat will compete for the top six spots in the Final.
  •  University Final: Six competitors give their presentations to celebrity judges, competing for the $2000 first prize ($1000 for runner-up, $500 for People's Choice).
