LETTER OF INTRODUCTION

Dear Student

This letter is to introduce Joshua McGreen who is a PhD student in the School of Psychology at Flinders University. He is undertaking research on the subject of the psychology of beverage consumption.

We would be most grateful if you would volunteer to assist in this project which involves 1) completing a series of questionnaires, 2) completing several computer tasks, and 3) filling out an online survey about your daily beverage consumption for a period of seven days. No more than 60 minutes of your time would be required to complete all aspects of the study.

Be assured that any information provided by you will be treated in the strictest of confidence and no participant will be individually identifiable in the resulting thesis, report or other publications. Upon completion of your participation, all data will be stored in a non-identifiable form. You are, of course, entirely free to discontinue your participation at any time or decline to answer particular questions or refuse to undertake any particular tasks.

If the questionnaires and/or the tasks raise any issues that you would like to discuss with someone, please contact the free and confidential Lifeline Australia services (13 11 14 or http://www.lifeline.org.au) or Beyond blue (1300 22 4636 or http://www.beyondblue.org.au).

Any enquiries you may have concerning this project should be directed to me at the address given above or by telephone on 08 8201 2416 or e-mail eva.kemps@flinders.edu.au.

Thank you for your attention and assistance.

Yours sincerely
